PreCon: Questions and Answers
REGISTRATION QUESTIONS
Late Registration is now closed.
Q: Is registration still open?A: No. We need a solid count for food and materials so we closed registration on June 18, but extended it until noon of June 20.
Q: I paid for PreCon but never registered. What do I do?A: Email diana@cfcyouth.us and I will give you the registration form that needs to be completed by 9 pm on Wednesday, June 23.
Q: I am a Couple Coordinator who would like to volunteer. Do I need to register?A: Yes, we would like to make sure we have you counted for food. CCs pay $10 to help with food costs. Please email at diana@cfcyouth.us for a registration form that needs to be completed by 9 pm on Wednesday, June 23.
Q: I didn’t think I was available but I can be there now. Can I still go?A: We’d like to prevent a surge of people registering the night before. Email diana@cfcyouth.us and you will be given at registration form that needs to be completed by 9 pm on Wednesday, June 23.
Q: Who do I turn my money in to?
A: Your area leaders are responsible for collecting all money. Only one (cluster) Couple Coordinator per area should collect all money and turn it in at the Registration Booth upon arrival at PreCon. He/she will receive all the food/entry wristbands needed for your area and should distribute it as soon as it is received. No wristband, no entry and no food.
Q: I registered but can’t make it anymore. Can you take me off the list?
A: Email diana@cfcyouth.us. All registrants have agreed to pay whether or not they are at the event. No refunds. We are expecting you to pay because your food has been paid for on the basis of your registration.
COMPETITIONS QUESTIONS
Competition signups are now closed (as of June 23, 9:30 pm). For any changes, please email Tito Dean at strofamily@yahoo.com. For any questions, please refer to the Q&As below first then email Tito Dean if you have further questions.
DEADLINE REMINDERS: Original Song/Band needs should have already been turned in tonight. Video and T-shirt entries are due 9 pm on Friday, June 25 and should be emailed to diana@cfcyouth.us. Dance mixes (playable CD track or mp3) are due first thing on the morning of PreCon but may also be emailed in by 9 pm on Friday, June 25 (anything emailed in after that should be turned in on Saturday morning instead).
Q: Where do I sign up?
A: Sign ups are at http://www.wejoinin.com/cfcyouth. For team competitions, please make sure your area coordinator for that competition is aware that you are part of the team. UPDATE: Signups are now closed.
Q: I signed up on accident or I’m no longer participating. What do I do?
A: A cancellation code should have been emailed to you. Your very last resort is to email strofamily@yahoo.com and have the administrator cancel your signup.
Q: What are the rules to each competition?

Q: When is the last day to sign up?
A: The last day to sign up and for teams to complete their roster is 9 pm on Wednesday, June 23. The only exception for this are the Wacky Sports signups. UPDATE: Signups are now closed. Please email Tito Dean at strofamily@yahoo.com for any issues.
Q: I see my team on the signups. Do I still have to sign up?
A: Yes, every individual in a team must sign up. This is our way of making sure you have the proper number of people and following the guidelines. UPDATE: Please email Tito Dean at strofamily@yahoo.com for any changes.
Q: We are in the Band and Original Song competition. Do we need to bring anything?
A: A drumset, an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, and keyboards will be provided but you are welcome to bring your instruments. Email diana@cfcyouth.us a list of what you will be using and what you will need by 9 pm on Wednesday, June 23. The deadline has passed to send in any of your Band needs. You must also bring five (5) typed copies of your songs’ lyrics on the day of PreCon.
Q: We are in the Dance competition. Do we need to bring anything?
A: If you can, email your dance mix to diana@cfcyouth.us before the day of PreCon. We are aware that teams might be making last minute changes in their routines but the mix—as one track on a CD or we are accepting as an mp3 file—is due first thing on the morning of PreCon. Look for the table with the Audio/Visual team (table with laptops connected to projectors). We take no responsibility if your CD or mp3 file is unplayable.
Q: We are in the Sing Off competition. Do we need to do anything before PreCon?
A: Yes. You need to email your song choices to diana@cfcyouth.us by 9 pm on Wednesday, June 23.
Q: Can we do a sound check or rehearse at the gym?
A: The gym is only open for the team to set up before PreCon starts. You have lunch break to figure out what you need to do for your band/dance/group set up.
Q: I am in the Promo Video competition. How do you want my video?
A: Sign up for a (free/basic) account on vimeo.com. Upload your video there and click the Settings option for the video. Click Privacy on the left sidebar menu and click Password Protected. Create a password for your video. Leave the video source to be downloaded. Save these Settings changes. Take note of the web address/URL of your video (it should be emailed you also). Email diana@cfcyouth.us the video URL and the password for that specific video. All video entries must be turned in by 9 pm on Friday, June 25.
Q: I am in the T-shirt competition. What do I need to do?
A: You need to 1) email diana@cfcyouth.us your .jpg file(s) of your t-shirt design and/or preview by 9 pm on Friday, June 25 and 2) you need to print out an explanation of your design to bring to PreCon.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: What should I bring?
A: Bring your hunger for Jesus! PreCon just isn’t about competitions. We will be praising, worshipping, and sharing. Additionally, you should bring your CFC Youth name tag and whatever else is needed for the competitions you are involved in. Bring extra money if you think you are going to need it.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Please dress appropriately. The weather that day will be in the mid 70s to low 80s. Your area leaders have also chosen the following colors to represent your area:
- Southcoast — Purple
- Bayside — Teal
- Northcoast — Blue
- Delta — Red
- Central Valley — Yellow
- Portland — Green
Q: Is there a PreCon shirt for sale this year?
A: Yes but we have a very limited amount which will be sold for $15 each. Only people who reserved shirts through a sign up that circulated last week have a guaranteed shirt. Make sure you buy them right away when you see them!
Q: Where is PreCon?
A: PreCon will be at the St. Catherine of Siena gym. The address is 3450 Tennessee Street, Vallejo, CA 94591. There will be signs to direct you to parking, registration, and entrance. If you want a number to call in case you are lost, please email diana@cfcyouth.us and a contact number will be given to you.
Q: What time is PreCon?
A: Registration should be open at 7:30 am while breakfast is being served. We will start gathering at 8 am and end the day at around 7:30 pm.
Q: What else can I do to prepare for PreCon?
A: Pray, fast, and receive the sacrament of Reconciliation!
